Tourists who have the complete Covid-19 vaccination scheme will be able to enter the country without a medical insurance policy, as of August 1.
It should be noted that only Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccines apply to this exception.
In addition, the last dose must have been administered at least 14 days before arrival in Costa Rica and must be verified with an official document that includes the full name of the person, date of each dose, formula and batch number.
Minors are also exempt from the travel policy requirement.
Therefore, the only requirement is to present the Health Pass within 72 hours before arrival.
For travelers not vaccinated, vaccinated with another formula or who have not yet completed their chart, they must purchase medical insurance with the following characteristics:
- Valid for the entire stay in Costa Rica.
- $ 50 thousand for medical expenses, including Covid-19
- $ 2,000 for lodging expenses in case of COVID-19 quarantine.
